LEZINRU Successfully Concludes Study Day on the Role of the Private Sector in Industry–Innovation Collaboration

On Wednesday, 22 April 2026, the Economic Studies Laboratory on Industrial Zones in Light of the University's New Role (LEZINRU) successfully concluded its study day entitled:


"An Evaluative Study of the Role of the Private Sector in Strengthening the Industry–Innovation Relationship in Algeria."


The event was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics, Commercial and Management Sciences and the Condor Academy, and took place in the Faculty's Discussion Hall. It brought together academics, researchers, industry professionals, and representatives from public and private institutions to discuss the growing importance of collaboration between universities and the industrial sector.


The study day opened with welcoming remarks delivered by Professor Amel Choutri, Chair of the Study Day; Mr. Abdelkader Berkane, Director of Condor Academy; Professor Khemissi Gaidi, Director of LEZINRU Laboratory; Professor Khaled Bouaza, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Ali Boukaroura, Rector of the University. The speakers highlighted the strategic role of universities in promoting innovation, supporting applied scientific research, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector to foster sustainable economic development.


The scientific program featured two academic sessions covering several key topics, including innovation readiness within industrial organizations, smart industrial transformation, open innovation as a driver of competitiveness, and the contribution of public policies and private sector initiatives to building an innovative and sustainable industrial ecosystem.


The second session welcomed experts and representatives from economic institutions who shared practical experiences on industrial investment, innovation-oriented training programs, and mechanisms for supporting local industrial development.


The event concluded with an open discussion that provided an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, identify future areas of cooperation, and emphasize the importance of reinforcing university–industry collaboration to enhance innovation and address national economic challenges.


This successful event reflects LEZINRU's commitment to promoting scientific dialogue, encouraging applied research, and strengthening partnerships between academia and industry in support of Algeria's economic development and innovation ecosystem.
