LEZINRU Concludes Scientific Seminar on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Data Analysis and Economic Modeling Using Python

The Economic Studies Laboratory on Industrial Zones in Light of the University's New Role (LEZINRU), in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics, Commercial and Management Sciences, successfully concluded its scientific seminar entitled:

"Artificial Intelligence Applications in Data Analysis and Economic Modeling Using Python."

The seminar was held on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at the Faculty's Discussion Hall and brought together university professors, doctoral and master's students, researchers, and specialists interested in artificial intelligence, data science, econometrics, and computational economics.

The event was organized to highlight the growing role of artificial intelligence technologies in economic research and to promote the integration of modern computational tools into academic teaching and scientific research. It also provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and practical experiences in the application of AI methods to economic analysis and decision-making.

The seminar featured three distinguished keynote presentations.

Professor Rabah Belabbas (University of Mohamed Boudiaf, M'Sila) delivered the first lecture on Machine Learning Applications in Economic Sciences Using Python, demonstrating practical techniques for data analysis, predictive modeling, and the implementation of machine learning algorithms in economic research.

The second presentation was delivered by Professor Youcef Haouchine (University of Blida 2), who explored Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) in Economic Research. His presentation emphasized the importance of interpretable AI models, enabling researchers to move beyond "black-box" systems toward transparent and trustworthy analytical frameworks that support evidence-based economic decision-making.

The seminar concluded with an outstanding presentation by Professor Brahim Adli (Mohamed El Bachir El Ibrahimi University of Bordj Bou Arréridj), who introduced participants to the latest developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Agents. Through a live demonstration, he showcased how intelligent agents can be designed and programmed to assist university professors and researchers in literature reviews, data analysis, scientific writing, and teaching activities, illustrating the transformative potential of AI in higher education and research.

One of the seminar's most remarkable features was its highly practical approach. Participants actively engaged with the live demonstrations and discussions, showing great interest in the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence for advancing research methodologies and improving academic productivity.

The seminar also served as a platform for strengthening collaboration among researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students while encouraging the adoption of emerging digital technologies in economics, econometrics, and data science. The discussions highlighted the importance of equipping future researchers with modern analytical skills capable of addressing the challenges of the digital economy.

This successful scientific event reflects LEZINRU's continued commitment to promoting innovation, interdisciplinary research, and digital transformation in economic sciences. By introducing cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and practical programming applications, the laboratory continues to foster an academic environment that prepares researchers for the future of data-driven economic analysis.
